Katie H. Schelp, President
Katie Schelp and her husband Spencer are both graduates of Quincy Senior High School. They have four children (Ben, Jane, Anne & Gus). Katie is the Director of Physician Recruitment & Retention for Quincy Medical Group. After living away from Quincy for 16 years, the Schelps returned to the town they love in 2011. Katie believes that a strong public school system is essential for Quincy to continue to be a place where people want to raise their families.
Harold B. Oakley, 2nd Vice President
Harold B. (Hal) Oakley is a partner with the law firm of Schmiedeskamp, Robertson, Neu & Mitchell LLP, focusing primarily on business law and estate planning. He graduated from Quincy High School in 1986. In 1993, he earned a juris doctor degree from the University of Missouri-Columbia. He is a also civic volunteer and has been a trustee of the QPSF since 1998. Hal and his wife Kathy, a former grade school teacher, have three children, Ben, Abigail and Allen, all of whom attend the Quincy Public Schools.
Kathryn A. Thomas, Secretary
Kathryn Thomas has been on the board at Quincy Public School Foundation since 2008. She has served on various committees including marketing, communications, and the capital campaign. Kathryn is co-owner of ETC ComputerLand, Vervocity Interactive, and Media Development. She enjoys working with the Foundation in order to create excellent learning opportunities for our community.
Todd A. Shoot, Treasurer
Todd Shoot is married to Jill and they have 4 children (Kelsey and Alec are in college and Aaron and Kiley still attend QPS). Todd is the Vice President of Treasury & Investor Relations for Titan International. He believes as a parent and community member that he has an opportunity and responsibility to get involved and assist the public schools in whatever way possible.
Denette C. Kuhlman, Past President
Denette C. Kuhlman is an active community leader and volunteer. Denette graduated from QHS in 1983 and continued her education at Culver-Stockton College and the University of Illinois College of Law. She practiced law for 17 years. Denette is married to Dr. Joe Kuhlman and they have 2 kids, Jake and Kaleigh. Denette wants Quincy Public Schools to produce great citizens. She feels private funding is imperative to the success of our schools.
Dr. George E. Crickard III
Dr. George Crickard is an Orthopedist with Quincy Medical group and a proud graduate of Quincy Senior High School. He is married to Maureen and they have 3 children, George IV, who attends Baylor University, and Grace, and Jack, who both attend Quincy Public Schools. George serves on the QPSF board because he believes that children are our future and he enjoys working with children.
Cody M. Hageman
Cody Hageman is the Services Manager at Vervocity Interactive. He is married to Kayla and they have two young children. Cody is a 2000 graduate of Quincy High School and a 2004 Graduate of Quincy University. He also serves on the Quincy High School Alumni Association Steering Committee. In his free time Cody likes to spend time outdoors working in the yard and enjoys going camping with his family. He looks forward to his children one day attending the Quincy Public Schools and enjoys assisting with making QPS as strong as possible.
Carson W. Kirk
Carson Kirk, son of former Quincy teachers Carolyn and Houston Kirk, is President of the Kirk Family Foundation, which is mainly geared towards education. To that end, Carson has really appreciated the opportunity to get involved with the QPSF as a trustee and as a staunch supporter of the Circles of Investment program. Despite being a longtime Floridian, Carson enjoys his ties to the Quincy community, and is still a big Cardinal fan.
Dr. George C. Meyer
George Meyer is a former teacher, coach and administrator in the Quincy Public School district for 34 years and was superintendent his last four years. After retiring from the Quincy school district, George taught at Quincy University and became the Dean of the School of Education. Currently George is on the Board of Directors of the Adams County Academic Success Initiative which supports schools in implementing Stephen Covey’s 7 Habits of Highly Effective People. George has been married to his wife, Mary Nell, for over 50 years.
Alexander Drummond is a serial entrepreneur. He sold his educational technology company, StudyCloud, to Avant Credit in 2015. Since then, he has provided strategic consulting to other startup companies. Alexander is a graduate of the London School of Economics and Political Science and attended the Quincy Public Schools through 9th Grade.
