Class of 1953! Seventy-five years ago, the Class of 1953 graduated from Quincy High School, stepping into a world marked by transformation and promise. That year, Dwight D. Eisenhower was inaugurated as the 34th President of the United States, ushering in a new era of leadership. In the realm of science, James Watson and Francis Crick announced the discovery of the DNA double helix, revolutionizing our understanding of genetics. Culturally, television was becoming a household staple, with shows like I Love Lucy capturing the nation’s attention. Amidst these changes, we forged friendships, pursued knowledge, and laid the foundation for our futures within the halls of Quincy High.
The goal is to raise $10,000 to establish a permanent endowed fund—the Class of 1953 Circle—that will support Quincy Public Schools students for generations to come. Once fully funded, this Circle will provide ongoing resources for key student needs: access to technology, mental health services, music and arts programs, athletics, and college and career readiness. It’s a meaningful way to give back to the community and educators who helped launch us into the world.
This initiative is just getting started. Every contribution, no matter the size, helps bring us closer to our goal. Once we reach it, the fund will live on—forever—providing ongoing support to Quincy students year after year.
This campaign is also a chance to reconnect. Reach out to your classmates. Share memories. Encourage others to be part of something that reflects our class spirit, pride, and generosity.
