Class of 1958 Circle Challenge

Class of 1958! It’s remarkable to reflect on the 67 years since the Class of 1958 graduated from Quincy High School. You came of age during a period of significant transformation and optimism. In 1958, the United States launched its first satellite, Explorer I, marking the nation’s entry into the space race. That same year, the National Defense Education Act was signed into law, emphasizing the importance of education in science and technology. Cultural milestones like the debut of the Barbie doll and the popularity of hula hoops were capturing the nation’s attention. Amidst these changes, we forged friendships, pursued knowledge, and laid the foundation for our futures within the halls of Quincy High. 

The goal is to raise $10,000 to establish a permanent endowed fund—the Class of 1958 Circle—that will support Quincy Public Schools students for generations to come. Once fully funded, this Circle will provide ongoing resources for key student needs: access to technology, mental health services, music and arts programs, athletics, and college and career readiness. It’s a meaningful way to give back to the community and educators who helped launch us into the world.

This initiative is just beginning, and we need classmates like you to help lead the way. Whether you contribute $19.58 to honor our class year, $58, or any amount that feels meaningful, every gift brings us closer to our goal. And once we reach it, the fund lives on—forever—supporting Quincy students year after year.
