Class of 1962 Circle Challenge
Established Circle of Investment
Class of 1962! It’s hard to believe it’s been over 60 years since the Class of 1962 graduated from Quincy High School. We stepped into a world undergoing significant change—marked by pivotal events, cultural milestones, and a spirit of optimism that shaped our generation.
That year, the nation faced the Cuban Missile Crisis, bringing the world to the brink of nuclear conflict. President John F. Kennedy’s leadership during this tense standoff was crucial in navigating the crisis. In the realm of music, 1962 was a landmark year. Hits like “Stranger on the Shore” by Acker Bilk, “I Can’t Stop Loving You” by Ray Charles, and “Big Girls Don’t Cry” by The Four Seasons topped the charts, reflecting the diverse musical landscape of the time .
In cinema, films like Lawrence of Arabia, The Music Man, and To Kill a Mockingbird captivated audiences, offering both critical acclaim and box office success. These films not only entertained but also provided commentary on contemporary societal issues, resonating with audiences nationwide .
At Quincy High, the Class of 1962 left an indelible mark through leadership, creativity, and a deep sense of community. Whether on the field, on stage, in the classroom, or through service, our class demonstrated resilience and innovation, helping to shape the culture and traditions that continue to define the Blue Devil experience today.
Now, as we reflect on our shared past, we have the opportunity to come together once again—not just to reminisce, but to build a lasting legacy. Through the Class Circles Challenge, our class can raise $10,000 to establish a permanent endowed fund—the Class of 1962 Circle—that will support Quincy Public Schools students for generations to come.
This fund will provide critical resources for technology access, arts and music education, mental health services, athletics, and college and career readiness—ensuring every Blue Devil has the opportunity to thrive.
Every gift, no matter the amount, brings us closer to completing our Class Circle. Progress can be tracked online, with every milestone celebrated along the way.
Let’s reach out to our classmates—teammates, artists, student leaders, and lifelong friends—and invite them to be part of this legacy. By supporting our Class Circle, we’ll help provide today’s students with vital resources and ensure that the spirit and opportunities we valued in 1962 continue to thrive.
Over sixty years ago, the Class of 1962 helped shape the heart of Quincy High. Today, we have the chance to carry that spirit forward—uniting in purpose to create a legacy that will uplift future Blue Devils for generations to come.
