Rollie Platt
Hall of Fame Inductee

When a man’s passion is also his vocation–good things happen. Those good things have been happening to Rollie Platt and those he’s touched over the past 25 years. Platt is a product of the Quincy school system. He caught the wrestling fever while still in high school. He took it to the next level as a coach in the system. Rollie Platt got started as a teacher and coach at Quincy Junior High. He became the Head Wrestling Coach at QHS during the 1979-80 season. Platt’s efforts have been recognized on a national level. The Quincy Invitational Tournament is one of the state’s finest–as is the Quincy High Wrestling Program. During his tenure Platt has helped a number of fine athletes to the individual Illinois State Tournament, including an impressive 8 members of the Quincy High squad in 1998. During Platt’s 20 years as head coach, he’s sent at least 1 member of the Quincy High squad 15 times. Rollie and Rosemary Platt are the proud parents of 4 daughters.
